Life is an adventure of great experiences, happiness and excitement. My adventure has led me to Portugal where I am now searching for a quinta (small farm) where I will be able to become more self-sufficient and enjoy the simpler facets of life.
Since originally starting this blog, I have made great progress and I now live in Portugal. But my adventure is substantially more than just moving from one country to another. It has given me time to reflect and already I’m learning more about myself than, at times, I care to know.
A couple of years ago, I stepped back and looked at myself and saw someone who had a large detached house, drives a luxury car, jets off on holiday and buys quality products. At a glance, people would probably put me in the ‘successful’ category although I was feeling that I was on a treadmill of everything becoming ‘the norm’
Moving to Portugal hasn’t come particularly easy as I miss my two amazing daughters terribly. Although they are fiercely independent, yet loving and caring. They’re beginning their adventures and I am grateful they have supported me, in the same way as I support them to follow their dreams.
More recently, I’ve begun to look at my life through a different lens. I challenge myself as to whether I am being honest to myself and, indeed, others. I’m learning more about myself and am more focused on my life’s adventure than I have been in the preceding 40+ years.
As someone who wears all my emotions on my sleeve, I endeavour to be as honest and transparent as I can be. I welcome you to look through the lens and join the adventure with me.
Our Farm Portugal is my next adventure.
Let’s go! Vamos!
Marc
